3. Data from SMS/Offline Users

For users using SMS services:

• We may store messages sent to and from the system. Data is used strictly for learning and service improvement.

4. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell personal data. We may share data only:

• • With trusted service providers (hosting, SMS delivery)
• • When required by law
• • To protect platform security and users

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect data. However, no system is 100% secure.

6. Children’s Privacy

• SomaTech is educational and may be used by minors under supervision.

• We do not knowingly collect unnecessary personal data from children.

• Parents/guardians may request data deletion.

7. AI & Automated Processing

StudyBuddy uses an AI language model to power chat tutoring and exam feedback. Here is what you should know:

• • What is sent to the AI: your chat messages and exam questions only. Your name, phone number, email, and payment information are never sent to the AI.
• • Session-only retention: the AI does not retain a memory of your conversation after your session ends. Each new chat starts fresh.
• • No automated decisions: the AI provides learning assistance only. It does not make decisions about your account, access, or eligibility for services.
• • Third-party AI service: chat messages are processed by our AI engine provider under a data processing agreement. No conversation data is used to train the provider's general models.
• • Avatar (D-ID): if the video avatar feature is enabled, short video clips are generated on-demand and are not stored beyond your active session.

8. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide services, improve learning systems, or meet legal obligations. Chat histories are retained for up to 2 years. Exam and performance data are retained for the lifetime of your account. All data is deleted or anonymised upon account deletion.

9. User Rights

Users may request: Access to their data, Correction of inaccurate data, or Deletion of their data (where applicable).

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Continued use means acceptance of updates.
